Time in the House of Life: 6 years History (at least eight sentences): For the first three years of Emily’s life, her house was nothing more than a battleground. People might ask what made Alice and Louis compatible in the first place, and come up short handed. The sad part was for a brief period in time they were in love, until it started to fall apart. One cool spring night would change the course of Emily’s life forever. Her father packed up his bags and left before the sun was up. No note, no explanation, just an empty seat at the table. Alice filed for divorce as soon as possible, only to come up short handed when she couldn’t find her soon to be ex. She had no money to hire a private investigator, so she ruled her divorce under the basis of abandonment. After a long drawn out process, Alice was finally free of him. Alice, an unskilled magician and a single mother working 4 minimum wage jobs, could barely keep it together. They moved often, usually to cheaper and cheaper apartments. Alice was barely home, trying to provide for her only daughter. Emily grew up in the same suburban school surrounded by the same people. Not many people came from low income families, so she was often looked down upon by her peers. She became embarrassed to invite people over to her apartment, for fear of showing people how poor of a situation she lived in. She was a bit of a troublemaker in school, wholly because she wouldn’t stop talking. She would get sent out into the hall because her whispers and giggles would never stop. She was excited to learn, but sometimes she got distracted. She found solace in the people around her. There was a school librarian who had a soft spot for her, and she would help emily with homework when her mother was working long shifts. One of her mom’s coworkers would pick her up from school and drive her home so she wouldn’t have to walk in the cold philly winters. Her mother’s best friend would show up for parent teacher conferences when her mother couldn’t make it. There were a lot of substitutes, but never enough of the real thing. She met her dad once more when she was sixteen. He had found her over the internet and said that he felt bad about leaving. He invited her, and her alone, over to meet his new family. They lived in a nice neighborhood in New Jersey. After she left he never contacted her again. She was 12 when she went to brooklyn house. She found a new family there. It was a new kind of chaotic, but it was good. RP Sample (at least five sentences, only required for first form): nope. Notes: | |
